The aim of the seminar is to provide delegates with the latest information, innovative case studies and opportunities to access new technologies, which together will help equip local authorities for the forthcoming challenges facing their services.

APSE has brought together a wide variety of speakers who will explain to delegates how they have transformed policy into practice to achieve these changes.

The seminar is planned to allow considerable time for debate and questions.


The seminar will include:

  • APSE Chief Executive will share APSE’s latest research data on how local authorities are managing their  streetscene services
  • WAMITAB Chief Executive will be explaining the importance of continuous and accredited training to all levels of staff in the street cleansing sector in order to ensure the delivery of quality services
  • Cheshire West and Chester Council showing how the development of a shared service delivery culture has  benefitted both staff and residents alike and improved the quality of street cleanliness and appearance.
  • Nottingham City Council will explain how successful partnership and community engagement, together revised service delivery times have made significant improvements to local environmental quality standards.
  • South Tyneside Council will look at how important the ‘right first time’ philosophy has been to the implementation of tenure blind cleansing team system and the benfits and savings this has brought...
  • Three Rivers District Council working in partnership with The wider Hertfordshire Fly Tipping Group have created a fly-tipping toolkit which they want to share with other local authorities to promote the drive to deter this most visible of environmental crimes.
  • Liverpool Streetscene services have developed a series of multi-functional Environmental High Impact Teams which have delivered real tangible improvements which has turned around an environment which was suffering serious environmental decline.
  • South Gloucestershire Council will describe how they have developed a ‘virtual’ enviro crime team which has been so successful and innovative that it was the recipient of APSE’s 2018 Innovation Award for Street Scene services.
  • APSE looks at service delivery models and tries to identify if there really is a ‘one size fits all’ to streetscene service delivery.

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY: Reservation is a contract. Substitution of delegates is acceptable any time in writing by email to aholcroft@apse.org.uk or fax to 0161 772 1811. Cancellations must be made in writing at least 10 working days before the event and will incur a 20% administration fee. No refunds can be given for cancellations received less than 10 working days before the event or for non-attendance. In the unlikely event of cancellation by the organisers, liability will be restricted to the refund of fees paid. The organisers reserve the right to make changes to the programme, speakers or venue should this become necessary.
