Starting salary £31,346 per annum

The post is graded (SCP 27 – 35) £31,346 to £38,890

Performance Related Pay up to £8,888 depending on performance

 

A rare opportunity has arisen for a Senior Consultant to join a growing, dynamic organisation at the forefront of local government services. Working for APSE, (Association for Public Service Excellence) based at the Manchester office, operating throughout the United Kingdom, the successful applicant will get involved with providing expert help to source interim managers for Local Authorities.

APSE Solutions is the consultancy arm of APSE which operates within the ethical framework of the wider organisation. It delivers a full range of management consultancy and interim management to local government. The Senior Consultant is a key member of a small, internal team managing the established consultancy and coordinating a large pool of associates.

The candidate

  • Experienced in recruiting and placing interim managers within the public sector
  • Excellent knowledge of the legal and tax frameworks surrounding interim management
  • Able to manage a portfolio of projects
  • Able to present complex information in written and oral formats in a wide ranging audience
  • Committed to excellent, value for money, public services
  • Excellent management and leadership skills with the ability to coordinate a pool of independent local government expert associates.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills for influencing change and engaging with clients
  • Excellent customer relationship management skills and able to maintain strong working relationships.

 

In addition to the excellent salary the successful candidate will receive:

  • Flexible working hours, Monday to Friday
  • A starting salary of £31,346 with opportunities to progress through the pay scale to a maximum salary of £38,890 plus potential PRP
  • 24 days holiday plus all statutory public holidays
  • The opportunity to apply to join the Local Government Pension Scheme
