Seminar Objectives:

APSE is pleased to announce this unique opportunity to consider the future provision of local parks, opportunities for civic enterprise within parks services and quality matters in the day-to-day management of parks and green space assets.

Set within the picturesque surroundings of Regents Park in Central London, the day will include case studies of income generation, maximising return on investment in park amenities and explore how we might harness the power of community partnerships and the support of local parks champions to enhance green space service provision. We will also explore how we can deliver excellence in events management, care of freshwater habitats and create a compelling offer for residents to encourage engagement in green exercise.

Speakers include Paul O’Brien, APSE Chief Executive and Chair of the Knowledge & Skills Work stream (Parks Action Group) discussing future financial models for delivery, Nick Grayson, Climate and Change Sustainability Manager at Birmingham City Council unpacking the potential of Ecosystems Services in Cities and Sean Flesher, Chief Officer – Parks and Countryside at Leeds City Council, outlining the Council’s steps towards delivering 1 million of net income in 2018 & 2019 through parks amenities and fundraising initiatives.
