The Big APSE Energy Summit, held in partnership with DESNZ, is back. It will be held on 26 and 27 February 2025 at a new venue for us, right in the heart of Birmingham. It’s easily accessible by train, just a couple of minutes from New Street station.
The energy, climate change and sustainability agenda remains as high profile as ever. The targets many local authorities have set themselves are getting closer and closer and, whilst lots of councils have made big strides, there is still a huge amount to do.
You won’t need us to tell you that these topics will be part of councils’ decision making processes for a long time to come. These are issues of concern for all involved in local government, for all services over the length of a whole career. Be assured that these topics will not fade away.
So, whether you consider them a threat or opportunity, you need to be informed.
That is why you should attend the BIG APSE Energy Summit, held in partnership with DESNZ.
Every APSE Energy member authority will be entitled to 2 free places with no delegate fees and no charge for meals nor overnight accommodation.
Delegates from all local authorities across the UK are welcome and the content of the summit will be appropriate for England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
This is the only event of its kind focused primarily on the local government sector.
Topics covered in the agenda include:
There is a practical focus to the Summit with contributions from the following local authorities - Southend-on-Sea, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Carmarthenshire, Bradford, Hertfordshire, Dundee, Durham, Nottingham and Wigan, with more to be on the agenda.
Officers from DESNZ and the Net Zero Hubs will be speaking and in attendance for the duration of the event, so there will be opportunities to speak directly to them.
