APSE Energy Webinar - Public Sector Decarbonisation in 2024 – challenges, needs and actionable support

In this webinar, Stephanie Parker, Senior Advisor, Energy Systems Catapult, spoke about taking stock of the decarbonisation progress, sharing insights from a recent sector-wide research project backed by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, which has aimed to uncover key decarbonisation barriers and needs in 2024.

Over 200 stakeholders from across local authorities, NHS, emergency services and central government have been engaged in surveys and interviews, to evidence the biggest decarbonisation challenges teams are currently facing, including:

• funding and resources that can support your success;
• procurement, and help to find the right suppliers; 
• getting started – including prioritising projects/feasibility and design and;
• upskilling, including more on new technologies.

The session covered the different support available to tackle these challenges including the Public Sector Decarbonisation Guidance, produced by Energy Systems Catapult on behalf of the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, as well as Net Zero Go and the Net Zero Hubs.
