Underground water is found under many of our towns and cities. It is a valuable resource as a source and a repository of heat and can be a further tool for use by those authorities looking to take forward the municipalisation of energy.

This event will be run in with the British Geological Survey and will look at the programme Cardiff City Council has taken to  investigate the potential for ground water heating in the city. It will look at the ground source scheme from an engineering, operational, financial and policy perspective. Speakers from BGS and Cardiff city Council will be presenting. This project is replicable for many towns and cities and this event will be an ideal opportunity for officers to familiarise themselves with the technology and practical issues.
