Lendology CIC are a Social Enterprise lender, working in partnership with councils. Lendology work closely with the Private Sector Housing and Senior Management teams within local authorities to understand the strategic housing aims of the council and develop a partnership that delivers meaningful change across the sector.
The loan scheme can be applied to solve a number of housing problems, from improving energy efficiency in the owner occupier and private rental sector, bringing empty properties back into use, supporting the improvement of housing generally, through to topping up or supplementing Disabled Facilities Grants.
Their unique assessment approach, using people to understand people, means that Lendology are able to support a range of homeowners, many of whom may find themselves excluded from mainstream finance providers.
Since 2003, Lendology have lent over £17million of council capital, of which over £10million has now been repaid and is ready to be re-lent. By improving homes, Lendology helps realise various financial benefits and health and wellbeing being improvements for clients, the community, the local economy and local councils. An independent report conducted by the Financial Inclusion Centre [https://inclusioncentre.co.uk/] found that for every £1.00 invested by councils, £2.64 in social impact is generated.
