They are particularly interested in learning from other local authorities about their experiences, what systems they use, how they apply NPS, and the benefits and challenges they’ve encountered.

Main areas of interest are Leisure and Tourism, but they are also keen to understand broader applications of the system, so any feedback would be greatly appreciated”

G0592 - Use of high-speed internal combustion engine boats on lakes – 170725

A member authority have received complaints about the use of high-speed internal combustion engine boats (reaching up to 60mph) on the lake. Following engagement with the club and their legal services, they have developed a Memorandum of Understanding that includes the following restrictions:

- No petrol or nitro-fuelled boats

- Speed limit of 20mph

- Noise limit of 80dB

These measures were introduced due to several safety and environmental concerns:

• The boats are designed for offshore use, not small lakes

• They are extremely loud, disturbing park users and wildlife

• They use highly flammable fuels (petrol/nitro)

• The start-up process is hazardous

• The lake is near a playground and splash park, posing risks to children

• There is a risk of fire or explosion

• Wildlife nests on the lake's island are at risk of being harmed

• The boats are heavy, fast, and pointed--posing injury risks

• If they strike an object, they can become airborne

With no national standards that would be applicable for this scenario, they would appreciate any guidance, case studies, or safety standards Local Authorities could provide or have used themselves.

G0591 - Abandoned boats on mooring sites – 170725

G0583 - Corporate Performance Software - 260225

A member authority is exploring software packages to collate, monitor and manage the council’s corporate performance management data i.e. in terms of action progress and KPI performance.

They are interested in hearing what other councils use and whether they would recommend the software.

G0582 - AI assisted council minute software - 260225

Are other councils using/ tried AI assisted council minute software? And would they be happy to share their experiences of it.

G0581 - Job costing software for Roads, Waste & Fleet services - 250225

In order to manage and identify costs for work done in roads, waste and fleet, this authority uses a series of holding accounts. The cost side of the holding account holds labour, plant and material costs. They then use job costing software to calculate the cost of individual jobs and then allocate this to the relevant budget cost centre. The software used is no longer fit for purpose and therefore the authority is looking for a replacement.

They would therefore be interested to hear what systems other local authorities use to carry out this task and what feedback they can provide regarding ease of use, integration with other systems and ability to quickly update charge-rates. Any other thoughts and opinions on this process would also be welcomed.

G0580 - Voting software in council meetings - 030225
