A member authority is interested in hearing from other authorities who either undertake in-house Lift monitoring or who outsource the monitoring of lifts to an external provider. Specifically, they are seeking the following information:-
• If provided in-house, does the service who undertake the lift monitoring on behalf of other Service areas, charge for that service?
• If yes how much is charged per lift /site per annum?
• Do you undertake additional fire alarm testing of the lifts?
• If monitoring of lifts is outsourced, which companies do you use and what is their pricing framework?
• What types of monitoring do they provide?
HBM0582 - Flexible Working for trades staff
A member authority is reviewing their approach to Flexible Working for trades staff. Specifically, the member authority are looking to see what other councils and organisations do:
• Is flexible working available to your trades staff?
• Do staff take time off in lieu and repay when workload requires?
• Do you allow seasonal flexible working, for instance where there is higher demand in winter, do staff accrue hours to take off in the winter period and vice versa.
HBM0577 - Out of hours emergency service
A member authority is seeking information from other authorities who maintain a DSO regarding the out of hours emergency service they offer. Specifically, the member authority would like to know the following:-
1. Who undertakes this work.
2. If the out of hours is undertaken by council trade operatives, how does your authority deal with rest time (11 hour) requirements under the Working Time Regulations.
