• Have you experienced any non-start problems with these vans?  
• If yes, what was the diagnosis?
• And how has this been rectified?  Have you contacted the Ford Motor Company about this?

This local authority would like to find out from other local authorities the following information relating to Special Educational Needs transport:

• Are your contracts with private taxi companies, based on a cost per mile, hourly rate or annual lump sum price per route, i.e. Return journey?
• What is the average annual cost for routes excluding the provision of an escort/passenger assistant?
• What is the normal contract period for these routes?
• What is the average annual cost per pupil:
  • With an escort
  • Without an escort
• Do you have a policy as to how many S.E.N. Pupils are allowed to be transported on the same vehicle?
• Do you integrate S.E.N. And Welfare passenger transport services, i.e. Transportation of pupils and the elderly to S.E.N. Establishments and Day Care Centres in the same vehicle or as a 'back to back' service?
