This member authority would like to know if any other local authority Parks departments supply and/or erect marquees for community functions.


SCOT0010 - Review of Building Maintenance Stores

This APSE member authority is interested to hear from other authorities that have undertaken a review of their building maintenance stores services. In particular they would like details of:

1. Improvements to in-house stores services such as improvement in stock control and purchasing arrangements
2. Externalised stores services whereby one or more suppliers provide a range of delivery services
3. The advantage or disadvantages with either or the above scenarios
4. Details of any stores services that  have been taken back into an in-house operation as a result of problems with suppliers.


SCOT0009 - Adoption of play areas

This member authority would like to know what other local authorities charge developers when adopting public open space, and what do they charge for adoption of play areas?


SCOT0006/0007 - Sports and Leisure facilities

This authority is currently undergoing a review of its sports and leisure facilities and would be interested to learn how other organisations coped with Best Value reviews, in particular:

1. The methodology used

2. Any available performance indicators used to assist

SCOT0004 - Good open spaces

The Association is seeking information from Scottish authorities regarding the importance of good open spaces in encouraging physical activity and preventing inequalities. This query applies to the following service areas: streetscene, community safety, street lighting, housing and design and planning of local environments. Specifically:

1.What kind of open spaces (parks etc) encourage people to exercise and feel safe and what has your authority done in this regard?

2. What consideration is given to inequalities in encouraging all members of the community to use open spaces?


SCOT0003 - Special uplifts

This local authority wants to know how may other councils in Scotland charge for special uplifts.
