Challenges faced by Fleet Managers

The main vehicle conversions challenges that LCV fleets experience is the transition from ICE to EV

• Charging and operation of vehicle-based power tools and ancillary electric equipment without drawing down on the vehicles HV drive batteries and reducing driving range.
• Addressing range anxiety at the end of the working day to ensure the vehicle has enough power to get the driver home or to a designated charging area.
• Supplying vehicle mounted auxiliary heaters for EV vehicles where ICE vehicles have traditionally taken a diesel fuel supply from the vehicle fuel tank.
• Re-engineering vehicle designs to meet operational requirements with the reduced available payload available on EV models.

What are we doing at Modul-System to address these challenges and operational concerns?

Developing and fitting ultra-lightweight floors, linings, racking to reduce vehicle conversion weight and allow the vehicle to carry the tools and equipment required, is probably the easiest problem for us to solve as Modul-System has been developing and using these products in preparation for the EV journey for some years.
