The Renewables and Climate Change Advisory group provides an opportunity to share and hear case studies of innovative energy projects underway across APSE’s member authorities and to network with colleagues involved in delivery across the region. A typical agenda may include updates on emerging technologies and policy developments exploring the full breadth of policy areas within the green agenda as it affects local authorities from air quality to fuel poverty. All meetings are free to attend and there is no upper limit on how many staff and elected members may attend from each APSE member authority. To register your details to receive details of upcoming meetings, please complete our contact form, stating your service interest areas.

Through APSE’s Network Query service staff and councillors from member authorities can circulate a query across the Association’s 250+ member authorities to ascertain feedback on matters of service delivery. Previous queries have sought feedback on electric vehicles and EV charging infrastructure, energy prices and battery storage projects. To disseminate a query, please fill out our online request form here. To request a copy of the feedback from a previous query, please click here.
APSE Energy is a collaboration of local authorities, hosted by APSE seeking to maximize the opportunities of working together on a national scale in energy-related projects and in delivering on the green agenda. Colleagues engage in learning and networking events, including the Big Energy Summit, drawing together hundreds of officers and elected members from across the UK. Members may also draw on APSE Energy’s consultancy support and research, to access case studies of good practice and to connect with those who are pioneering new and innovative approaches across the local authority energy sector.
