Every year the region appoints a chair, secretary and vice-chair to represent Wales at APSE’s National Council.

Neighbourhood Services

This group covers waste, recycling, roads and highways, street lighting, streetscene and parks.

Health and Wellbeing

Chair: VACANT

Secretary: VACANT

This group covers the existing catering and cleaning and soft FM services but add to this leisure and sports development and community wellbeing. 

Housing, Homelessness and Sustainability

Chair: Cllr Steve Hunt (NPT Council)

Secretary: Alex Ellis (Flintshire Council)

This group covers the existing areas of social housing provision and building maintenance but provide wider policy additionality in terms of the impact of homelessness, asylum seeker support, sustainability, cost of living and community focused services.

Promoting excellence in public services

APSE (Association for Public Service Excellence) is a not for profit unincorporated association working with over 300 councils throughout the UK. Promoting excellence in public services, APSE is the foremost specialist in local authority frontline services, hosting a network for frontline service providers in areas such as waste and refuse collection, parks and environmental services, cemeteries and crematorium, environmental health, leisure, school meals, cleaning, housing and building maintenance.
