APSE (Association for Public Service Excellence) has announced the finalists councils in its annual award to recognise the best UK council as the ‘Overall Council of the Year in Service Delivery 2014’
With some 38 local authorities eligible for finalist status the APSE judging panel, following a rigorous analysis and scoring process, have narrowed the field to just ten local authorities. The winner will be announced at Nottingham Ice Arena on Thursday 11 September 2014.
Announcing the finalists APSE chief executive Paul O’Brien said ‘This was a tough call as this year’s submissions to the APSE service awards were truly outstanding. In spite of the challenges facing local government these deserving finalists have shown that the true spirit of municipal pride is alive and kicking. When we announce the winner at Nottingham Ice Arena it is fair to that these councils will represent the champions within local government. Striving to deliver excellence in public services and the best possible outcomes for local communities and local economies’.
