The Association for Public Service Excellence is once again hosting its Annual Service Awards for all local authorities and their public sector partners across the United Kingdom.
Since the awards was launched over fifteen years ago, local authorities drawn from England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales have demonstrated their ability to pursue innovation within service delivery and implement new approaches, which improves the level of service to local communities and people.
Interest and recognition in the awards has grown year on year, with over 375 submissions received for the 2014 awards. The local authorities who are winners and finalists receive publicity, both nationally and locally through the awards as being exemplars in service delivery from the wider local government family.
Over 545 attended the awards ceremony, including Government Ministers and senior local government figures in order to celebrate the very best in public service excellence. Whilst only a short time has passed since the 2014 awards were presented, the success of the awards demands the qualification process for 2015 commences to allow Councils and their public partners the maximum amount of time to prepare submissions and supporting evidence.
As touched upon above, the awards not only recognise and promote individual achievement, but also provide an invaluable opportunity for information to be shared with other organisations that recognise the hard work and dedication involved in delivering much needed and valuable services to communities.
