APSE is delighted to announce the winners of the Highways, Street Lighting and Winter Maintenance Awards 2017. This year, the awards celebrated two different groups of local council staff, with the Apprentice Awards, which celebrate those who are just starting out in their careers, and the new Innovation Awards that highlight the inspiring work being done by teams of expert council staff.
The submissions for this year's awards were of an extremely high standard, showcasing the skill and passion for highways, street lighting and winter maintenance services in local authorities across the UK. The awards were very close, and all councils should be proud that they successfully managed to reach the finals.
APSE Chief Executive Paul O’Brien said, ‘I believe that it is important to celebrate the hard work that goes on in all aspects of local government frontline services – from the work completed by apprentices just embarking on their careers, to the more experienced teams that use innovation to improve their local area. All of our finalists have proven themselves to be excellent at their work and champions of local council frontline services. Well done.’
Congratulations to all the winners and finalists!
