As APSE ends its own 20th year in local government we look forward to working with all our member councils in the coming year 2020 and indeed over the next 20 years!

APSE has responded to today’s Queen’s speech suggesting that it offers little Christmas cheer to local councils.

Will local government be seen as a key partner working to develop a shared ambition of post-austerity policies designed to rebuild local areas and local communities? Or will it be seen as a merely a local administrator for matters decided within Westminster? 

The call for evidence was initially scheduled to close on 16 December 2019 but given the unexpected General Election, the Commission is accepting submissions into early January to enable councils and organisations who have been engaged in election activity to still participate.
