Following an open tender process via the Yorkshire Purchasing Organisation, Go Plant Fleet Services were awarded, and have recently delivered, four new Dennis Eagle Refuse Collection Vehicles into Hyndburn Borough Council.
Hyndburn BC now have a fleet of 10 high specification RCV’s to service the Borough’s 36, 000+ dwellings. The investment is one more step along the journey to make the Council’s activities net carbon zero by 2030.
All the vehicles have been supplied to a high specification and include Terberg electric lifts – significantly reducing the Co2 levels and achieving a fuel saving of 12% against conventional lifts and reducing noise levels, so residents should really notice a difference. The team of drivers have also received in depth training from Dennis Eagle covering fuel efficiency and overall operation. This represents the first significant steps towards a greener service overall. All the vehicles come complete with the Maple Drive Lock system which prevents any unauthorised persons being able to drive the vehicle.
“Go Plant Fleet Services were awarded following the tender process and scoring the highest marks against both quality and price” Michael Ainsworth, MSOE MIRTE, Transport Manager, Hyndburn Borough Council confirmed. “They have made the process very easy for us and with the dedicated account management from their local Contracts Manager, Darren Taylor, we are sure this is the start of a good working relationship”
Darren Taylor – Contracts Manager Go Plant Fleet Services commented “It has been a pleasure to deal with Hyndburn Borough Council throughout this process, they have a professional Transport Manager in Michael Ainsworth who runs an excellent operation and workshop on site”. “Our Company is extremely proud to be working with Hyndburn Borough Council and we are looking forward to supporting them over the next four years.”
