In terms of support, all performance networks members are offered free of charge data completion training to enable users to gain a full understanding of the process involved and the level of detail required to complete templates.  Once the data is completed and the reports have been produced, members are then invited to attend a data usage training session, which guides members through their main set of reports and explains how to analyse the data in order to support learning and improvements in the service.  As well as members receiving the full suite of reports throughout the year, our team of performance networks officers are available to help with any bespoke data queries you may have during the year.

In addition to the technical data analysis and support benefits of PN membership, we offer unique networking opportunities with other local authorities at our working group meetings throughout the year. These sessions are incredibly useful in providing opportunities for managers to idea share and strategize, working through pertinent service issues, together.

The annual benchmarking gives you the following reports and benefits:

  • Performance reports; report displaying graphically performance indicator results for all organisations within your family group
  • Performance indicator standings tables; tabular report detailing positioning information of each PI within your family group and across the whole service area
  • Performance at a glance report; dashboard of key performance indicators showing individual performance compared to current averages and previous performance
  • Direction of travel report; showing your performance over the past 5 years compared to the average for key performance indicators
  • Summary report; detailing trend analysis across the whole service area and highest, lowest and average figures
  • Best practice case studies from the best performing and most improved authorities on how they have achieved that level of performance
  • Bespoke analysis - on request - reports by special comparator group, trend analysis for example
  • Participation in the customer satisfaction surveys

In addition to the performance information, APSE performance networks members receive additional benefits:

  • Free support to guide you through the process - we provide on-line data completion training sessions and one to one training, as well as data usage sessions.
  • Real opportunities to share best practice - facilitated through the advisory group meetings and the Performance networks annual seminar
  • Performance awards - held annually for most improved performer and best practice
