Experience

A multi-award winning Business Director within Commercial Management and Municipal Services with a wide area of expertise, having worked in the Public and Private Sectors in positions ranging from Head of Client Services, City Contract Operations Manager, Lead Business Development Manager, and Business Services Director.

Responsible for winning, mobilising and managing contracts with a total value in excess of £1 billion and recently led the successful contract bid as Lead Bid Development Manager, winning two County Council contracts worth £280m. In addition Rob also successfully project managed contracts with tender values between £250,000 to £40m per annum in Business Development.

Commercially astute extensive managerial experience, covering all aspects of business and environmental management, transport and management consultancy gained through employment within the Public and Private Sectors, with responsibilities for over 250 staff, and budgets in excess of £20m.

As Ministry of Defence Army Advisor for Environmental Management, he reorganised the waste management systems, developed partnerships with 6 local authorities, increased the recycling performance to 82% saving £500,000 and won the National Award 2008 for Best Partnership, was awarded a CIWM Commendation in Environmental Excellence 2009 and the Association for Organic Recycling (AfOR) Award for Best Local Authority Partner 2010.

He  was guest speaker for the London Recycling forum, and on behalf of Biffa Municipal, also designed and developed the award winning Green Scheme, which proved to be such a resounding success it received two National Awards and has since been implemented in other Local Authority contracts throughout the country.
