This associate is a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing and holds a first class degree in Housing Management and Development from the University of Westminster.

 

She has more than twenty years experience working for local authorities and housing associations; care and support organisations; and the voluntary and community sector as a senior manager, independent consultant, board member, school governor and Vice-Chair. She has also worked with NHS organisations as a management consultant and strategic partnerships/ communities engagement lead officer.

 

She is also a specialist consultant and trainer on resident and service user involvement, community engagement, equality and diversity.

 

Her achievements include:

  • Updating local authority housing, homelessness and housing options strategies; and housing improvement plans
  • Consultation and updating local authorities’ housing allocations policies and housing registers
  • Writing housing and homelessness manuals for local authorities
  • Successfully negotiating and project managing  a Hampshire  local authority’s membership of a sub-regional online choice based lettings scheme (including technical IT build, contract management and staff training)
  • Halving the number of households in B&B accommodation and temporary accommodation
  • Undertaking major research and benchmarking on best practice in homelessness and housing related support for a variety of clients
  • Successfully implementing housing advice and homelessness transformation improvement programmes including setting new KPIs/targets, performance monitoring systems, staff training plans and review of Elected Members housing allocations and homelessness panels
  • Successfully managing frontline housing services including staff supervision and team management, and successfully dealing with complex staff disciplinary investigations
  • Developing and implementing new corporate customer services targets, performance standards and monitoring systems
  • Undertaking strategic equality and diversity reviews for local authorities,  housing associations, and NHS Trust and the VCS
  • Co-authoring highly acclaimed Equality & Diversity and Community Engagement strategies and Toolkits for a variety of clients
  • Housing Care and Support:
  • leading housing care and support services on the South Coast; and
  • undertaking successful tender evaluations and bid writing.
