Course Overview

Do you know the difference between an abandoned vehicle and a nuisance one? Are you tired of seeing abandoned vehicles cluttering your streets?

This one-day masterclass will provide learners with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to effectively manage abandoned and nuisance vehicles in their communities. This comprehensive four-unit course covers the legal responsibility and how to identify, report and investigate an abandoned vehicle in their local area. As well as enforcement & removal protocols and how to manage residents’ expectations when dealing with complaints.

Through a series of practical exercises and facilitated group discussion, learners will gain confidence in applying relevant legislation to real world scenarios and gain an understanding of how to engage effectively with contractors to ensure cleaner, safer streets.

By the end of the training, you will: 

  1. Understand and apply relevant legislation to the management of abandoned vehicles
  2. Analyse and apply understanding of how to identify, report and investigate an abandoned or nuisance vehicle
  3. Consider appropriate enforcement and removal procedures in your relevant authority
  4. Evaluate how to effectively manage residents’ expectations when responding to complaints about abandoned or nuisance vehicles
