Are you an Elected Member in a Local Authority in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland or Wales? If so, this essential training will equip you with the knowledge and skills to address the climate crisis in your local area.

This is the most important issue of our time. The decisions made now will impact on future generations. As cabinet or committee members, as ward councillors, decision makers and representatives, across counties, districts, boroughs, cities and sub-regions, you have an important role in steering the direction of your authority. Your influence will shape the ways in which partners, residents and visitors think about and approach the climate agenda and this course will help you to navigate the opportunities and talk, with confidence, about the science, policies, opportunities and benefits of climate action.

Who Will Benefit?

Elected Members from all Local Authorities across the UK.

This course will be delivered online via Microsoft Teams. To access it, you will need a WiFi connection or mobile data hotspot. Downloading Microsoft Teams to your laptop, desktop or smart device will give a better performance and greater functionality throughout the day. This highly interactive training includes a mixture of presentations, video conferencing, group work, games, quizzes and video.
