We have a responsibility to broaden our understanding of the differences in outcomes and opportunities experienced by people in a variety of communities. As employees of a local authority, we have a duty to use this understanding to provide a greater sense of inclusion within our teams and the communities in which we serve.
Every person deserve to feel respected and safe. We need to give everyone an understanding of how valuable it can be to have an inclusive working environment and this training will not only teach people what good practice is but also how to implement it into their day-to-day lives.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the training you will:
- Recognise the difference between diversity and inclusion.
- Explore what is meant by protected characteristics.
- Consider actions to enhance inclusivity in your workplace.
Course delivery
This half-day course will be delivered online via Microsoft Teams, by the Association for Public Service Excellence (APSE).
You will receive a link in your Joining Instructions which will come to you as a calendar invitation.
To access it, you will need a WiFi connection or mobile data hotspot. Downloading Microsoft Teams to your laptop, desktop or smart device will give a better performance and greater functionality throughout the day.
This highly interactive training includes a mixture of presentations, video conferencing, group work, games, quizzes and video.
