This online session introduces Green Health Routes as a practical, scalable approach to supporting health through local green spaces. The routes help people discover, connect with and confidently use nature to improve physical and mental wellbeing, and are increasingly being used within healthcare settings as part of green social prescribing.
Dan Loveard, Green Space for Health Project Manager, The Centre for Sustainable Healthcare, will explore how the project works in practice, from co-design and route development with communities and partners, to delivery, promotion and integration into local systems, drawing on insights from their most recent work in the North East. You’ll also hear about the difference the routes are making for individuals and communities, and what’s needed to sustain them, so they continue supporting communities long-term.
