RH0504 - Car parks being used for events and charging for them - 240226

An authority has several off-street car parks that are used to hold community events during the year so they lose parking capacity and a small amount of income.

Do other Councils allow this and how much do they charge the event organisers?

Do charges differ for charity, community or commercial events?

RH0503 - Lighting open public spaces - 030226

A local authority is keen to understand how other member authorities light their open public spaces (parks, etc) if indeed they do? And as a follow up, how they prioritise which areas to tackle, and in the case of parks, which routes through to light?

We would be grateful if all responses could be returned by Friday 13th February.

RH0502 - APSE Network Query: Road safety processes - 250226

A local authority is keen to understand what preventative interventions are in place, in particular:

1. Does your council use ‘Close Pass’ reported to the police, or use similar data to support preventative road safety interventions, in order that safety is proactively increased as we try to increase active travel rates, particularly of cycling?

2. Does your council have a preventative road safety approach that goes beyond analysis of existing accident data & corresponding sites, and specifically seeks to create safer environments for active travellers as part of their Road Safety Plans?

RH0501 - Lighting columns and revenue generation - 200126

We are working alongside a professional institute (ILP) and would like to hear from local authorities who have successfully established revenue streams from licencing third-party attachments to their lighting columns.

This could include:

⦁ small cells for 5G/WiFi,

⦁ banners,

⦁ CCTV,

⦁ illuminated or non-illuminated advertisements,

⦁ any other schemes

If this is something that members have managed to implement, please reply with further details.

RH0500 - Information on service to grit roadside paths and walkways - 230126

A member authority is keen to understand how other authorities provide the service to grit roadside paths and walkways? In addition they would like to know what type of equipment is used e.g. hand barrows, shovels, small tractors or quads etc and how effective you feel these methods are?
