ECON Engineering are a family run business established in 1969. We are the UK’s leading Winter equipment provider, supplying around 85% of all gritters used across the country, which are manufactured at our factory in Ripon. We maintain a gritter hire fleet of over 1000 vehicles.

We also manufacture over 80% of Hotboxes used in the UK, providing either body only or a full vehicle offering.

Our diverse product range has been tried and tested over decades in the harshest environments, as we work in partnership with our customers to provide bespoke, reliable, robust and efficient solutions.

We pride ourselves on the service and after care provided to our customers, with the highest number of dedicated Winter service engineers in the UK. A recent investment of over £1m in a purpose built service depot at Alloa in Central Scotland , which can accommodate up to 30 trucks, further strengthens the service offering. Our Scottish service manager, Donald Kerr, has over three decades experience of looking after Scottish customers in both the public and private sectors.
