Mellor Sigma 7 High Floor takes centre stage
Rochdale-based bus manufacturer, Mellor, will publicly debut its Sigma 7 High Floor at APSE Scotland Fleet, Waste & Grounds 2023 as it demonstrates how the versatile, size- and cost-appropriate Sigma platform has been adapted to meet the needs of local authorities, charities and accessible transport providers.
The Mellor team will be on hand to showcase the features of the Sigma 7 High Floor, which is available with a rear access lift and space for up to 7 wheelchairs. The vehicle represents the first time that Local Authorities and other transport providers have been offered a fully electric, seven-metre, narrow body bus capable of carrying this many wheelchairs, while also delivering a zero-emission, zero-compromise solution.
Mellor’s Bus Division Managing Director, Morgan Clissett, says, “From the outset, we wanted our all-electric Sigma range to work for as many service providers as possible. Though Sigma is being utilised on service routes across the UK and Europe, our roots lie in building accessible vehicles for social service transport operators. That’s why we have been so passionate about introducing a version of Sigma 7 in a high-floor configuration to serve this important sector.
“Now, providers of such services can enjoy the full suite of benefits afforded by Sigma’s ground-up electric bus design. When combined with our outstanding customer service and aftersales support, too, we believe that the Sigma 7 High Floor is a no-brainer for operators in the market for an accessible zero-emissions bus.”
