Service delivery and procurement in the age of net-zero
Wednesday 12 July 2023 – 10.30am – 2.00pm
Lord Mayors Reception Room, Guildhall, Swansea, SA1 4PE
Most Councils have committed to making sweeping reductions in their carbon footprint by 2030. Much has been done already such as changing lighting systems to LED, recycling asphalt and the move to electric vehicles.
The next steps may be less obvious and involve changes to the method of service delivery and the procurement supply chain to ensure reductions are sustainable within Council budgets
The meeting is an ideal opportunity for officers, elected members and local authority partners and trade unions to hear how the aims and objectives of net-zero are being addressed by local authorities in Wales and beyond. The approaches highlighted are very much focused on the practical aspects, local supply and carbon leadership
There will also be the opportunity to network with colleagues from across the APSE Wales and share knowledge and experience.
