APSE is delighted to announce that Cllr Tracey Dixon has been elected as the National Chair Elect 2025-2026 of APSE by council members across the UK.
Cllr Dixon - who also serves as Leader of South Tyneside Council - was elected at APSE’s Annual General Meeting, on Wednesday 11 September 2024, where Cllr Archie Dryburgh was confirmed as the APSE National Chair for 2024-2025.
The position of National Chair plays a key role in forming APSE’s policy and advocacy priorities. It also heads APSE’s National Council, which represents member councils from across the administrative areas.
Cllr Dixon said: “I am delighted to have been elected as Chair Elect for 25-26. I am honoured that members have put their trust in me and I can’t wait to take up this role.
“Having already served as Northern Chair, I am looking forward to building on that experience and knowledge to strengthen our local government networks to ensure we can deliver the best possible services to our residents.”
Mo Baines, APSE Chief Executive, said: “Currently serving as APSE Northern Chair, Cllr Dixon will bring a wealth of experience to the position. I am certain she will excel when she takes up this role next year. Congratulations!”
Cllr Dixon will also serve as English Chair for 2024-2025.
