Sofia Allana - FICCM (Dip) Technical Services and Journal Officer at ICCM
Sofia is the Technical Service and Journal Editor of the ICCM (Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management).
Her career in bereavement started in 2002, where she has worked in various roles from administration and memorial advisor, moving to cemetery operations management and finally up to Head of Bereavement Services.
Sofia joined the ICCM in 2019 and uses her vast experience to help other cemetery and crematorium managers on operational and legislative issues.
As well as holding the ICCM Diploma, Sofia has also obtained her TQUK level 3 award in education and training (RQF) and delivers training for the ICCM on a multiple of subjects within bereavement.
Lee is an Associate for APSE and the ICCM and has spent the last 36 years serving the Cremation and Burial industry.
He started his career at Beckenham Crematorium and Cemetery in 1981 and in 1997 when Beckenham was bought by SCI, Lee was appointed to the position of Crematoria Manager – London, with responsibility for its various London and Kent Crematoria and Cemeteries.
In 2003 Lee co-founded Classic Cremation Partnerships and spent the next 6 years providing assistance to the industry by way of Management agreements, emergency staff cover, revenue enhancement studies and feasibility studies. During this time, he established links with the General Cemetery Company, owners of the famous Kensal Green Cemetery and West London Crematorium, where he went on to serve as Manager, Clerk to the Board and in 2008 was elected to the Board of Directors.
In August 2010 Lee was appointed Consultant to the East Suffolk Crematorium Company for the new build site Seven Hills Crematorium and an initial 6-month contract was eventually extended to 3 years. In this period, the site became the most successful new build anywhere in the country for the last 25 years.
Lee has extensive experience in all areas of the industry and in the past 12 months has carried out 2 feasibility studies for authorities and provided 7 months of Management cover for Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council.
