APSE Southern Parks and Open Spaces Seminar 2021

About the event

APSE Southern Region is pleased to announce a return to face-to-face events with this unique opportunity to consider the provision of local parks and open spaces within the context of both sustainability and climate change. For the first time ever, this event will also include speakers with in-depth knowledge and experience of cemeteries and crematorium management.

Set in the heart of Central London, the day will include presentations looking at the importance of sustainability and planting in play area design; will explore the re-use of burial plots and ask if this is the sustainable way forward? The Director of The CDS Group will speak on the decarbonisation of the bereavement sector.

We will also discuss the role parks and green spaces play in tackling the climate and ecological emergency. The Environment Agency will deliver a presentation on how to meet the challenges of climate change with sustainability.  Furthermore, we will be hearing from Wandsworth Council on how they are working on maintaining the biodiversity in their parks and open spaces.

With the combined benefit of expert input and lessons learned from entrepreneurial sector trailblazers and local authority experts, we look forward to welcoming you back to face-to-face events in Central London to explore with like-minded colleagues the sustained future provision of public parks, green spaces and the challenges of managing bereavement services.
