APSE Southern Region is pleased to announce the programme for this year’s Parks & Open Spaces Seminar, focusing on the provision of local parks and open spaces within the context of both sustainability and climate change.
Taking place at the renowned Kia Oval Cricket Ground in London, the day will open with a review of Green Space Provision and the Levelling Up Fund. As well as learning how Parks for London are addressing the impact of climate change on London parks.
The CEO and CO-Founder of Go Jauntly will examine the vital role our green spaces play in supporting mental and physical health through micro adventures and nature connectedness. Hot off the back of this year’s APSE Service Awards, award winners London Borough of Lambeth Council will deliver a presentation on the synergy created through promoting environmental sustainability, income generation, capital investment and customer satisfaction.
We will also discuss the benefits of “Cut and Collect” management for grassland habitats within parks and open spaces, and also hear how we can deliver more environmentally sustainable and ecologically functional spaces for biodiversity.
We will finish of the day hearing how South Gloucestershire Council is helping Town and Parish councils identify opportunities for nature in tackling the ecological crisis.
With the combined benefit of expert input and lessons learned from entrepreneurial sector trailblazers and local authority experts, we look forward to welcoming you to The Oval Cricket Ground to explore with like-minded colleagues the sustained future provision of public parks and green spaces.
