Embracing a commercial approach to service delivery - APSE at the Public Sector Solutions Expo

Embracing a commercial approach to service delivery - APSE at the Public Sector Solutions Expo

With local government facing cuts to budgets that are the worst on over 70 years, the public sector is facing many fiscal challenges. The Public Sector Solutions Expo provides a platform for pioneering financial leaders to demonstrate the measures they are introducing to not only maintain public services, but to also deliver improved economic outcomes for wider society.

We are pleased to announce that APSE Chief Executive Paul O'Brien will be chairing a panel discussion exploring the ways local government is embracing a commercial approach to service delivery. The session will discuss:

  • How to identify and leverage potential commercial assets of your organisation;
  • Embedding the necessary cultural change to develop commercial skills of your workforce, to embrace a business-like approach to service protection;
  • Investing in capital projects for long term gains.

Other speakers in the session will include Tim Reade, Head of Property Services at CIPFA, Cllr Russell Bowden, Deputy Leader and Executive Member for Corporate Finance and Property at Warrington borough Council, and Felicity Mercer, Assistant Director of Commercial Services at Telford & Wrekin Council.
