Top of the Class

Top of the Class

The finalists of the APSE Overall Council of the Year in Service Delivery Award 2018 have now been announced.

This outstanding award will recognise the best and most innovative local authority in the UK. Focusing on their delivery of frontline services, the award seeks to celebrate those councils who are achieving excellent results in a wide range of different service areas.

All of the finalists were required to present best practice case studies in at least 4 APSE Service Award categories in order to highlight their commitment to implementing innovative ideas that support continuous improvement and adaptation in local services.

Paul O’Brien, APSE Chief Executive, said, “It is great to see local authorities across the UK performing so well, despite the pressures they are currently under and the changes they face to their services. When we announce the winner in Edinburgh it is fair to say that these councils will represent the very best within local government; striving to deliver excellence in public services and the best possible outcomes for local communities and local economies.”

The finalists of the Overall Council of the Year Award 2018 are:

Birmingham City Council

Cheshire West & Chester Council

City and County of Swansea Council

Durham County Council

East Riding of Yorkshire Council

London Borough of Barking & Dagenham
