Announcing the finalists of the inaugural APSE Cemeteries and Crematoria Innovation Award!

Following a rigorous selection process, three councils have been selected to present their submissions at the upcoming APSE Cemeteries and Crematoria Seminar. 

APSE Chief Executive, Mo Baines, said, "This award is to recognise the excellent work that is happening in cemeteries and crematoria across the UK; contributing to the development of new initiatives, and of new working methods in their authority. Each finalist has made a substantial contribution to their service, catching the attention of their colleagues and managers and, most importantly, helping the local communities who use these vital services. Congratulations and good luck to all!" 

This year's finalists: 

• Cardiff Council 

• Middlesbrough Council 

• Sheffield City Council 

The three finalists who scored highest in each category have been invited to present their submission at the Cemeteries and Crematoria Seminar 2023 in Birmingham on Thursday 27 April 2023. The submissions will then be judged by a panel of experts and the winner announced after lunch.
