This award is to recognise the excellent work that is happening in cemeteries and crematoria across the UK. The ideal submission will contain a description of the problem or challenge faced, the innovative approach taken, and the outcomes achieved. Specifically, we are looking for councils that are contributing to the development of new initiatives, and of new working methods in their authority.
To grab the judges’ attention, write your statement well. Show that you have taken the time to submit a high-quality application. Use proper English and check your spelling and punctuation. Please stick to the allocated word counts.

The three finalists who score highest in the category will be invited to present their submission at the Cemeteries and Crematoria Seminar 2023. The submissions will then be judged by a panel of experts, as well as delegates, and the winner will be announced after lunch.
Presentations should be via PowerPoint and be no longer than 10 minutes, You will be notified of your interview time nearer the event.
The winner will be presented with the award after lunch on the day of the Seminar on 26 April 2023.
