Eight outstanding UK local authorities have been shortlisted for this year's "Big One".
This Award recognises the best and most innovative local authority in the UK. Focusing on their delivery of frontline services, the Award seeks to celebrate those councils who are achieving excellent results in a wide range of different service areas.
Mo Baines, APSE Chief Executive, said, “We received around 300 submissions for the awards this year, with each one demonstrating a clear commitment to the goals of continuous improvement and the delivery of excellence in public services. Despite very serious ongoing pressures to frontline service delivery, the eight authorities shortlisted have demonstrated extraordinary levels of resilience and ingenuity in supporting local communities across the UK. Congratulations to each of our outstanding finalists - and good luck in Belfast!"
The winner of the prestigious APSE Overall Council of the Year Award 2023 will be announced in Belfast at the APSE Annual Service Awards Charity Dinner on Thursday 14 September.
