MOBA, the leading machine control specialists in the waste and logistics sectors, has become the latest Approved Partner of the Association for Public Service Excellence (APSE). Working on a not-for-profit basis, APSE is dedicated to promoting innovative and sustainable solutions to a network of more than 300 local authorities and organisations.
“There’s never been a greater need by local authorities to make waste collection more efficient and which is why we feel that we can make an important contribution to aims of the APSE network”, says Stuart Sargeant, Managing Director of MOBA UK.
With more than 50 years experience, MOBA offers robust and accurate bin weighing and RFID systems which, together with powerful back-office software, helps local authorities and waste contractors gain complete transparency in the waste collection process. MOBA is also a pioneer in technology that enables implementation and management of Underground Refuse Systems (URS). APSE views this as the future of waste management and MOBA is proud to be part of its Procurement Framework that helps local authorities more easily roll out URS in their respective towns and cities.
“Whilst reducing running costs is the key objective, local authorities also want to limit vehicle movements, thereby reducing harmful emissions, and, through powerful data, to get a better understanding of what exactly is being collected”, says Sargeant. “Our technology helps to achieve these objectives and, together with the advent of Underground Refuse Systems, we look forward to having closer working relationships with the APSE’s network of local authorities”, added Stuart.
Mo Baines, APSE Chief Executive, said, “As part of our URS Procurement Framework, APSE has enjoyed an excellent relationship with MOBA now for several years. We are therefore delighted to strengthen that relationship by having them on board our Approved Partner scheme. As a global leader in technology for use with underground bins, MOBA will provide a significant boost to our local authority members by showing how they can fully optimise the use of vehicles and collection crews, thereby delivering significant savings for councils in money and carbon emissions. Ahead of APSE’s busy seminar schedule, we cannot wait to introduce MOBA and their world class products to our local authority members across the UK.”
