The Government recently announced they will be creating a new National Forest (The Western Forest), which will see the planting of 20 million trees across Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Somerset, The Cotswolds and the Mendips, as well as including urban areas such as Bristol, Swindon and Gloucester. Considering this announcement, APSE felt now would be a good time to take stock of the progress being made by those local authorities who have declared tree planting schemes as part of their drive to address climate change and falling levels of biodiversity.
This short survey will help highlight successes, identify problems and look at the wider aspects of delivering large scale tree planting schemes. The results will be collated and included in a briefing note which will be distributed amongst APSE members.
APSE would therefore be grateful is you could answer as many questions as possible to help in the preparation of the briefing note.
